Parlons maintenant de la couverture du livre. Outre l’édition renouvelée de The Complete Tunes Book et McCartney 80x, traduction néerlandaise (Stelck & Kruizinga), en ce moment également en ma possession : Trespassers W, l’Intégrale, un index complet des œuvres mentionnées, suivant le mode opératoire du groupe de Cor Gout, édité par Rytrut en France. Un livre audacieux, disons. Près de 600 pages, imprimées sur un papier couché fin, couverture rigide, richement illustré, en couleur. Une édition complète et mise à jour de la première édition de 2007, contenant toutes les paroles de tous leurs disques et autres publications de cette troupe musicale, qui depuis sa naissance en 1984 changea de formation suivant les projets. Non seulement avec les versions originales anglaises, néerlandaises et/ou allemandes, mais aussi avec les traductions françaises.
« Contient toutes les pochettes de disques et plus » : avec des images généralement aux beaux motifs, et d’autres emballages de conception artistique et de forme et de taille variables. Les paroles, l’artwork accessoire et les nombreuses photos du groupe en action donnent une image chronologique du travail et de l’histoire de ce groupe orienté multimédia. Rien que pour moi, en tant qu’amateur/collectionneur/descripteur de chansons dédiées à La Haye ou aux choses de cette ville, un must have. Et sinon, en tant qu’expert autoproclamé de la musique sportive en raison de l’imagerie additionnelle des chansons sur le foot de la pochette de Gout, des chansons sur, entre autres, Berkgkamp, Us Abe et Gascoigne.
REMARQUEZ AVEC QUELLE FORCE DERKS…
Il est intéressant d’examiner comment les sons et les jeux de mots, liés à la langue d’origine, on été « traduits » et dans quelle mesure on peut retrouver la mesure et le rythme d’origine. « Remarquez avec quelle force Derks marque le rythme » : la référence reconnaissable pour la plupart des Néerlandais à une chanson de mendiant du XVIIe siècle est vouée à se perdre dans d’autres langues, tout comme les jambes et les dactyles homériens, je suppose donc. « Notice how strong Derks Marks the beat ». Vous devriez l’entendre. Et comment traduit-on Dag visserke vis, une parodie de Japp Visser ? En anglais c’est devenu Hello Fisherman Fish, en français : Bonjour, petit pêcheur poisson. Toujours assez réussi, assurément avec cette magnifique allitération française.

How about the book front. Besides the renewed edition of The Complete Tunes Book and McCartney 80x, Dutch translation (Stelck & Kruizinga), at this moment also in my possession: Trespassers W, l’Intégrale, a complete works index of the mentioned, in the care of Cor Gout operating band, published by Rytrut in France. A bold book, we may say. Almost 600 pages, printed on thin, smooth paper, hardcovern richly illustrated, in color. A complete updated edition of the 2007-issue, containing all the lyrics of all their records and other publications of this music company, which from birth in 1984 per project changed in composition. Not only in the original English, Dutch and/or German versions, but also in French translations.
« Contains all record sleeves and more »: with images of all, usually beautiful sleeve designs and other artsy designed and in shape and size divergent packaging. The lyrics, the accessory artwork and the many group and action photos give a chronological picture of the work and the history of the multimedia orientated group. For me alone, as a lover/collector/describer of songs dedicated to The Hague or Hague things, a must have. And otherwise, as a self-proclaimed sports music expect because of the accessory imagery of the football songs from Gou’s sleeve, songs about, among others, Berkgkamp, Us Abe and Gascoigne.
NOTICE HOW STRONG DERKS…
It’s interesting to check how the sounds and puns, bound to the original language, have been « translated » and the extent to which the original meter and rhythm ca be found. « Notice how strong Derks marks the beat »: the for most Dutchmen recognizable reference to a17th century beggar song is doomed to get lost in other languages, just like the Homerian jambes and dactyli, so I suspect. « Notice how strong Derks marks the beat. » You should hear it. And how do we translate Dag visserke vis, a parode on Japp Visser? In English it became Hello Fisherman Fish, in French: Bonjour, petit pêcheur poisson. Still quite succesful, definitely with that magnificent French alliteration.
