ANTHROPOMORPHIC #7, USA, Summer 1994:
TRESPASSERS W, Hecks EP
Does this band think it’s Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds? I do. Nonetheless, it’s a sweeping two-sider of Netherlander angst in front of a carnival-gone-wrong rhythm section. « Tourbillon de la vie » is a nice folk song done in a native tongue. Good diversity music, but Nick Cave is still the king of this stuff.

Nussfarben 7-inch
Heck’s 7-inch
… Heck’s approach is more jazz-like. « Hexio Perfectio de la Luxe, » with its trombone, melodica, and vibrant bass, takes on a decidedly late-night, mid-’50s, rain-wet street feel. The remaining three songs, including one live radio show, are guitar oriented, with « Virtual WW3 » being fuelled by a continuous strumming, and the softy acoustic « Toubillon… ». (Bright Green, POB 24, Bradley, IL, 60915).
